Wish List Wednesday: Hotel San José

Every week, my inboxes are flooded with press releases, travel deals, and email blasts from magazines announcing the Next Hot Hotel. It’s a lot of eye candy! And because I’m a bit of a hotel junkie and constantly dreaming about where I want to go next, I’m starting a new series, Wish List Wednesday, in which every Wednesday I share which stylish hotel I’m adding to my travel wish list. First up: Hotel San José in Austin, Texas.

Ever since we moved to the South, my husband and I have been saying we want to explore Austin, which is known for its food and music (and more, I’m sure). We’ll get there eventually, and when we do, this is where I’d like to stay.

The word that best sums up my favorite aesthetic, whether in a home or a hotel, is contrast. I love old structures filled with modern furniture, new structures with vintage finishings, soft textures paired against hard surfaces, and patterns that clash in an inexplicably appealing way. Hotel San Jose’s cozy minimalism, design touches, and mismatched textiles hit that nail on the head. I also love how the hotel pretty much blends right into its setting.

Armed with a breakfast bento box, a bicycle, and a book to dive into on that sunny patio, I think I’d be right at home at Hotel San José.
